Krista and Matt met each other January 26th, 2013 during a 'friend-date' dinner with Alex Berki and his wife Kathleen and Josh Glemza and his wife Renee. Krista, being new to Ohio and having not met many people yet, Alex and Kathleen wanted to introduce her to new people (really Alex just wanted his wife back, Krista and Kathleen were spending a lot of time together).
Alex requisitioned the help of his bowling team partner Josh and set up a dinner at Bac in Tremont, Ohio. Dinner went well as Krista and Matt talked most of the evening about Wine, California, and Ohio.
A few days later, Matt took Krista to the Rocky River Brewing Company for dinner, intending to give her a tour of the west side of Cleveland after dinner. However, as one discussion led to another, they were surprised to find out that the night was nearly over when the lights dimmed in the restaurant signaling its imminent closure.
Matt made a valid attempt to introduce Krista to a group of his friends, but had already decided to keep Krista for himself.
Days turned into weeks, weeks into months, and on May 21st, 2014, Matt surprised Krista with a special dinner including a bottle of Dom Perignon Champagne and a sparkly ring. The next day they left for a cruise to the Bahamas to celebrate.
On June 20th, 2015, they will say "I do!" in front of their friends and family at one of Sonoma County's oldest wineries, Simi.
